Factors Contributing to Your Poor Sleep Quality.

By Monsuru.

It seems most people are not aware how dangerous lack of quality sleep can be for their health and overall well being. Thus, they don’t bother to find out about the relevance of sleep to their overall health.

According to a survey by Japan’s Ministry of health, the total number of those who sleep poorly or cannot sleep is 19.7% for men and 19.6% for women. In other words, almost one in five people have poor sleep quality.

What are the causes of poor sleep quality, and how can they affect you?

There are several reasons why the quality of sleep declines overtime, affecting the individuals overall body functions. It’s not a secret more that we get recharged after each round of sleep. The primary causes of distorted or poor quality sleep is mostly related to:

1) Lifestyle
2) Bedroom environment
3) Stress.

1) LIFESTYLE

Light control is a problem in our lifestyle. For example, if you use your smartphone before bed. The blue light emitted from the screen reduces the hormone “melatonin,” an essential hormone for good quality sleep, and makes you drowsiness while watching. In other words, too much screen time before bed affects our sleep pattern due to the light emitted from the smart device screen.

2) BEDROOM ENVIRONMENT

Temperature, humidity, width, brightness, sound, etc also contribute to the quality of sleep. For example, it is difficult to get a good night’s sleep in a hot or cold room. Again, the presence of sound that is too high hurts sleep.

3) STRESS

Stress factors or stressors such as harassment and long working hours also affect sleep.
Typically, the sympathetic nerve is dominant during the daytime. The parasympathetic nerve is dominant during sleep. But if the autonomic nerve is out of balance due to stress, the sympathetic nerve operates. In this state, even if one wants to sleep, sleeplessness occurs. It also causes a decrease in sleep quality.

It is known that when the quality of sleep deteriorates, lifestyle diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia, and various cancers are more likely to occur.
The condition also progresses more easily. Mental memory, judgment, and concentration are weakened. The risk of depression and depression is expected to increase, and urgent quality sleep improvement is needed to balance the equation.
Therefore, a good consideration of the above factors is necessary if you desire quality good sleep.
