If you are yet to enrol in the NIN database, this might be the time to really reconsider that stance. The Federal Government has given directive that all phone numbers not linked with your NIN will be disconnected by your service providers (MTN, Airtel, Glo, 9mobile, etc) in two weeks time.
What is NIN?
NIN simply stands for National Identification Number. At the moment, the Federal Government has published a list of centre’s accross the country to enrol in.
Therefore, if you have numbers registered in your name but which you don’t want to lose, then you have to enrol and get your National Identification Number. Without this number, you will likely lose the line should the federal government go ahead to implement its new directive.
However, if you have already registered in the past, then you have nothing to worry about. This is because, your network provider would have already linked your NIN to your phone number after you officially registered the sim when you bought it.
