1) Joan Laporta explains what he will do if elected Barca president again.

Former Barca president, Joan Laporta gave an interview with the press recently, using the opportunity to explain what he will do if he becomes president in the next election.

According to Joan Laporta:

“One of the first things I will do as Barça president will be to call the presidents of La Liga, Spanish Federation, UEFA, and FIFA to demand the respect Barça deserves as an institution. We have lost that in the past years.”

Joan Laporta was Barca’s president during the club’s golden years of recent memory, masterminding the rise of Ronaldinho and Lionel Messi to global icons.

2) Man City’s Eric Garcia getting closer to leaving club.

Eric Garcia is one defender that have consistently come up Barca’s radar since the last transfer window. It was probably a miracle he didn’t join La Blaugrana in the last transfer window.

In the current January transfer window, 2021, Barca seem to have upped their game to sign the Manchester City defender. With Gerard Pique and Lenglet out injured, getting Garcia on a free is a great deal.

With the transfer rumour mill increasing the certainty of the deal happening any moment, Barca may be set to have the best young defensive pairings in the world.

3) Barca’s upcoming Presidential Elections postponed due to corona virus.

The upcoming Presidential Elections previously scheduled to hold on 24th January have been shifted. Reports from Camp Nou are citing the rise in Covid-19 cases as the major cause.

At the moment, the Catalan giants are exploiting other means of holding the election in other to avoid violation of Covid-19 rules governing the country at the moment.

4) Guardiola hopes for Garcia stay.

The Manchester City boss is worried his defender may leave the club this January and is worried. In an interview with, he admitted that he doesn’t know the situation with Eric Garcia but hopes he stays at Manchester City.

Eric Garcia’s contract will officially run out by season’s end. However, he is free to start negotiations this January. There are big pointers at the moment that Eric Garcia may join FC Barcelona this January transfer window.
