Messi Have Scored 21 Goals in 21 Games Against Real Betis, Expect Fireworks Today.

FC Barcelona will hope to continue their impressive La Liga form today when they square off in an away match against Real Betis today by 9pm. Both teams have it all to play for, with FC Barcelona currently on a five game unbeaten run and Real Betis continually maintaining their good five games unbeaten home record.

Earlier in the season, around November to be precise, Barca squared off against Real Betis at a time when FC Barcelona was but a shadow of what they once represented. However, even in that form, Barca was able to demolish and hammer Real Betis by 5 – 2. It was all thanks to the mercurial Argentine, Lionel Messi.

According to statistics, Real Betis is one of Lionel Messi’s favourite La Liga clubs. Messi has scored a whooping 21 goals in 21 appearances against the Seville based club, with 10 assists to cap it off. In the last win against Real Betis at Camp Nou, Messi was instrumental to the win, scoring and assisting to help Barca cruise to a 5 – 2 win against the Fekir led Real Betis side.

Thanks to most Barca players turning up in hot form since the turn of the new year, Barca have maintained a good winning spell in 2021 despite the loss against Bilbao in the Super Copa. With the likes of Griezmann and Dembele beginning to come to the party as expected, there should be enough fireworks to get us all filled for the day. When you add the fact that this is one of those La Liga matches that consistently produces at least two goals, you realize we are in for a rollercoaster.

Expect Lionel Messi to lead the show today, especially as he didn’t score in the midweek comeback against the stubborn Granada side.  Although Barca will have one eye on the Champions League and Copa Del Rey Semi-final, the coach is expected to field a strong team.

A win will take Barca to second position in the La Liga table.
