Top 15 Most Interesting Biggest Blockbuster Movies Coming out this Year [2021]

The Corona virus vaccine and gradual easing down of lockdowns means that movie goers’ hope of visiting Cinema’s regularly again is being realized sooner rather than later.

The date for some of the movies were shifted from last year and pending no further adjustments, these are the biggest movies coming out this year – 

1) Spiderman 3

Tom Holland will reprise his role as Spiderman in the movie’s third installment. It will continue from where his adventures in Endgame ended. Who knows, maybe we will get to see where Spiderman was and what he was doing before Hulk reversed the Snap. There are rumors of multi-verse exploration too.

Release date: December 17, 2021.

2) Fast and Furious 9

Dom and his team will return again this year. The stakes will be much higher now as Dom’s family will be tested by the sudden turn up of his actual brother (John Cena). The movie is bound to be a Box Office hit judging from the performance of previous ones.

Release date: June 25, 2021.

3) Dune

Will the desert world of Arrakis finally be done justice on the big screen? Many people believe it would this time, especially as Dennis Villeneuve is helming the affairs on this Blockbuster epic.

With star actors like Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Timothée Chalamet, Stellan Skarsgård and Zendaya, Villeneuve hopes to prove doubters wrong.

Release date: October 1, 2021.

4) No Time To Die

Daniel Craig will be putting on his last show as 007 in this James Bond movie. With Rami Malek starring as the main villain in the film, you can expect to see some high end plot twists (which the Production House is keeping under wrap at the moment).

Release date: September 30 (UK), October 8 (US) 2021.

5) Top Gun: Maverick

The man who takes one of the biggest stunt risks in Hollywood, will return in the role that shot him to stardom in Top Gun: Maverick. The first movie debuted 35yrs ago. 

Release date: November 19, 2021.

6) The Matrix 4

Keanu Reeves will return as Neo in the fourth installment of the Matrix franchise. Who knows what the machines are up to this time? Will they keep harvesting energy from humans while keeping everyone glued to the imaginary fantasies created through the Matrix? I guess we will see when the movie is released.

Release date: December 22, 2021.

7) Venom: Let There Be Carnage

Carnage did warn us in ‘Venom’ that he is coming to wrought destruction at the end of the film. Now, all we are going to see is Carnage in Sony’s second installment from their Marvel Universe IP.

Release date: September 24, 2021.

8) Black Widow

Scarlett Johansson will be returning as Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow) in her solo movie which was previously scheduled for release last year.

Opinions are still divided as to the type of reveals her character will be showing since Romanoff died in Avengers: Endgame after sacrificing herself to allow Hawkeye get one of the Infinity Stones.

Release date: July 7, 2021.

9) The Suicide Squad

After conquering the evil that wanted to take over the world in Part 1, the Suicide Squad will once again team up to save earth from another impending doom. The movie will be starring Idris Elba, Nathan Fillion, John Cena, Margot Robbie, Peter Capaldi and Pete Davidson.

Release date: August 6, 2021.

10) Eternals

According to the director of the movie – 

“…The Eternals, it’s about this incredible group of immortals but, through their journey, we get to explore what it means to be human.”

I’m sure the Avengers will have a lot of questions for the Eternals to answer, especially with their non-interference policy which they will be breaking in this great epic tale.

Release date: November 5, 2021.

11) Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Shang Chi will be making his long awaited debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a solo movie of same name. The thriller will focus on his early beginnings and how he acquired the powerful 10 Rings which gives the wearer superhuman powers.

Release date: September 3, 2021.

12) West Side Story

This movie tackles relationship and choices in a society that is unforgiving of unconventional love triangles. It is directed by Stephen Spielberg.

Release date: December 10, 2021

13) The Kings Man

Following the successful debut of “Kingsman: The Secret Service” and the lukewarm reception of the second movie “Kingsman: The Golden Circle”, the third installment will be hoping to bring back the appeal of the first film when it graces the Cinemas this year.

Release date: December 22, 2021.

14) The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It

The 3rd itineration in the James Wan directed ‘Conjuring’ universe will see Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga take another trip to the world of demonic possessions and unholy spirits. 

Release date: June 4, 2021.

15) Jungle Cruise

The movie, staring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, will pick up from where Pirates of the Caribbean stopped.

Release date: July 30, 2021.
