Barca Transfer News: Staying, Going… Gone!

At the moment, FC Barcelona’s financial woes is yet to subside, although the club unveiled their latest signing, Memphis Depay.

Lionel Messi still remains a free agent as the salary backlog in Barca’s account books means that resigning him is practically impossible at the moment.

However, reports from the Camp Nou seem to be positive. According to Joan Laporta, Griezmann is an important player for the team and his aim is to keep him at the club if it can be helped. But, he also acknowledged that the French forward is receiving a lot of interests in the market.

According to The Mirror, Barca has set “August 15” as the deadline to sort out their financial hiccups and also to register Lionel Messi with La Liga.

Coutinho, Umtiti and Pjanic

Nothing concrete is in the works for Coutinho and Pjanic. From reports, it is being stated that the huge wages of the players are the main stumbling block to any future transfer.

Countinho has been linked with possible moves to Inter Milan and Liverpool, although the later don’t seem to be likely.

Umtiti is also linked with a move back to former club, Olympique Lyon and we are keeping tabs on that and monitoring developments in that regard.

Juventus are not really enthused about welcoming back Pjanic due to his huge salary which they can’t afford for now, mostly because of his age.

Ilaix Moriba

His contract with the Catalan giants will end next year and Barca are trying to extend the contract as soon as possible.
However, there seem to be no headway as the player is reportedly asking for more.

Ilaix broke into the first team last season and has continued to draw interest. It is rumoured that Manchester City and Chelsea are currently monitoring the situation closely, and are willing to double the salary of the 18yrs old midfielder if Barca can’t reach an agreement.

This means that Barca may soon be forced to sell one of their priced assets if the financial situation of the club do not improve.

Lionel Messi

There are reports in some corners that Messi may not play for Barca till January due to finance. At the moment though, nothing is certain because the transfer window will officially end in August and a lot of things can happen before then.
