The players are currently in Germany for their upcoming preseason matches against Stuttgart and Salzburg respectively. The latest player to leave the Camp Nou for greener pastures elsewhere is Iker Bravo as the club continues to balance it’s books to meet deadlines.
• Martin Braithwaite
There are reports suggesting that the Danish striker may be on his way to WestHam for a fee within the region of €15million.
Braithwaite was brought in January, 2020 when Dembele got injured midway through the season. Although he has not been a bad player during his stay at the club, it doesn’t seem like he will be allowed to stay beyond this transfer window due to the club’s push to free up it’s huge wage bills.
• Iker Bravo
The 16yrs old Cadete A (Barca’s under -16 team) has been sold to Bayern Leverkusen after the forward failed to put pen to paper in the new contract offered him by FC Barcelona.
Bravo performed exceptionally well last season, helping his side win the league title. However, he was hoping to move to the Juvenil A but was assigned to Juvenil B side in the new contract that was offered him. This prompted him to opt for continuation of his development elsewhere.
Bundesliga giants, Bayer Leverkusen are also happy about their recent acquisition. According to the club’s sporting director –
“Iker Bravo is a real talent. However, we were able to persuade him and his family that Leverkusen is exactly the right place for his next steps”.
• Miralem Pjanic
Recent statements from Juventus supremo suggests the out of favour Barca player may be on his way back to the Italian giants any time.
The embattled midfielder has failed to impress at the Camp Nou and has now been deemed surplus to requirements, especially as La Blaugrana is in a financial quagmire. Getting him off the books seems like it is now a matter of “when”.
A statement from Juventus president, Massilimilliano Allegri indicated that the Serie A giants may be bringing him back to Italy but he will have to take a pay cut for the deal to be finalized.
“We have Cristiano [Ronaldo], who is good at shooting from distance, as well as [Paulo] Dybala, who is good from a closer range,
“And soon a good right-footed player who can take freekicks could be arriving.” he is quoted as saying.“
• Cristian Romero
There are reports that Barca is interested in signing the Argentine defender after his performance at the Copa America.
The Atalanta defender was a mainstay in the Italian side’s fight for the top flight last season and is currently in hot demands at the moment.
According to the report, Barca tabled an offer for Romero but it was rejected by Atalanta. It seems the Catalan giants may try to up their initial offer and make another push for the highly rated defender.
However, it doesn’t look like Koeman likes the idea as he believes the club already has depth in defense at the moment with the acquisition of Eric Garcia and Emerson Royal.
