Oleksandr Usyk defeats Anthony Joshua to Become World Heavyweight Champion

The fight for the Unified WBO Heavyweight Champion took place last night at Tottenham Hotspur stadium, England between Anthony Joshua and title contender, Oleksandr Usyk.

Usyk started things on the night by landing smart moves early in the match which were backed by excellent shots. However, Anthony Joshua soon got in the game after sizing up his opponent. He worked his way up with some cool shots, landing his mark on few occasions as the fight progressed.

As they fought, Usyk soon gained further advantage over the Englishman, landing more brutal blows and almost damaging Anthony Joshua’s right eye towards the end of the bout.

They did their best on the night, giving everything they have to win the fight or knockout the other person. But, after the final round, Oleksandr Usyk was declared the winner of the fight by unanimous decision.

The three judges on the night awarded a win to Oleksandr Usyk in the following Scorecards: 117-112, 116-112, 115-113.

The defeat means Joshua has now lost his WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles to the Ukrainian International who is the new Heavyweight Champion.
