If you are looking to quit the Catholic Church for good, you are in the right place. By the time you are through reading this article, you will know how to go about it with no fuss whatsoever.
There are a lot of reasons why people may want to leave the church. However, whichever is the reason for you, just know that there is a formal process approved by the Church. This doesn’t mean though that you have to follow the process. You could as well just abandon the Catholic Church and do whatever it is you want to do with your life. The only downside to it is that your name will forever be in the Church’s register of members.

Two decades ago, the Union of Rationalist Atheists and Agnostics (UAAR) helped make it mandatory and recognized that anyone who was baptized as an infant has the right to stop being a Catholic if they so wish. For two decades, this De-Baptism process has been the practice now.
But to Rev. Daniele Mombelli, vice chancellor of the Diocese of Brescia and Professor of religious sciences at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, it is not possible to de-baptise someone though. According to him, the baptism “it’s a fact that historically happened, and was therefore registered.“What the procedure does is formalize the person’s abandonment of the church.”

HOW TO FORMALIZE THE ABANDONMENT OF CATHOLIC CHURCH
If for some reason, being Catholic is not something you want to continue indulging in, there is a simple process to go about it.
You can simply download the form online through the UAAR website or request for a form from your Parish. After that, fill out the form and accompany it with a letter declaring your intention to abandon the church. Once you have done that, just forward same to your Parish and you are done.
As with all religious organizations though, you should expect to be instantly excommunicated once the intention is officially registered. So, you should consider if the formal declaration is worth it or whether to just carry on living your life with no fucks given.
