Barca Transfer News Updates: Staying, Going, Gone!

With 72hrs left on the clock, FC Barcelona are left with decisions to make before the January transfer window closes.

The negotiations for Ronald Araujo’s contract extension has been slated for next month. Although the player has asked that the contract be improved to reflect his current efforts, it is believed the negotiations will go smoothly since he already wants to stay at the club.

Ousmanne Dembele still continue to take the headlines with his contract situation. According to latest reports, it doesn’t seem like the French forward is ready to leave the Nou Camp in this transfer window yet.

Although it is not readily apparent why, but it may have something to do with the players indecision about his chances elsewhere and the sign on fees he is likely to receive from a lucrative deal as a free agent in the summer. The former Borussia Dortmund player has also been frozen out of the team pending his transfer out of the club at the moment.

It wasn’t long ago when the bulky Traore burst out of the Barca B academy. However, he was deemed surplus to requirements at the time and sold with a buy back clause.

The Catalan giants have now activated the clause and are on the verge of resigning him on a loan and with the option to buy. He will become the latest addition to the club after Ferran Torres who was signed from Manchester City.
The Wolverhampton Wanderers player will officially become a Barca player after passing his medical and all the minor details are hashed out.

According to Daily Star,

Barcelona have agreed a loan deal – including an £25milllion option-to-buy – with Wolves that will see winger Adama Traore make a return to the Nou Camp after seven years away”

Barca signs former Manchester City youngster Alpha Dionkou from Granada.

With the likes of Pique and Alba already on their way to retirement, the Catalans are looking to bolster the defense for the future.

Although other defensive additions are likely to be made, Barca is hoping that the addition of Alpha Dionkou from Granada FC will help with the transition. With Xavi at the helms, Barca are hoping that the player will get enough minutes in the first team even though he is signed primarily for FC Barcelona B just like Pedri.

FC Barcelona’s ties to the Norwegian striker continues to grow. Barca’s interest in the striker is no secret, and Joan Laporta has promised he will do everything within his best to land the forward.

Several reports suggests that a deal might likely happen since the player himself has stated that he will prefer to play for FC Barcelona or Real Madrid in La Liga.

It seems Borussia Dortmund are also preparing for a future without their star player. According to a report from DailyMail, the German based side made an official bid of £38m to sign Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca.

FC Barcelona’s link with Morata seems to be growing bigger with news of a likely deal in the offing. Currently on loan at Juventus from Atletico Madrid, the striker’s second coming to Italy hasn’t gone quite as planned at Turin.

The signing of Dusan Vlahovic by the Old Lady means the Spanish forward is likely in his last season at the club or may outrightly force through a transfer to Barca where he will get enough game time.

Barca have also been linked to other players like Oscar, Andres Christensen, Mathis de Ligt who is rumoured to be looking for an exit from Juventus.

It has been revealed that Barca had the option of buying Sterling but chose Ferran Torres instead. Although there are so many questions about De Jong’s stay at the moment, it doesn’t look like the Dutchman is going anywhere anytime.
