Batgirl: So Much Love for Brendan Fraser as “The Mummy” star re-enters limelight (2022)

A series of unforeseen circumstances has contrived to derail the once blooming career of Hollywood’s favourite son, Brendan Fraser one of the most universally liked people on the planet right now.

Brendan Fraser didn’t find it easy at first until he had his breakthrough movie. Out of nowhere, he starred in era defining movies that made so many peoples childhoods. In those movies such as ‘George of the Jungle’, ‘Dudley Do-Right’, ‘Blast from the Past’ and of course the ‘ The Mummy’ franchise, the American actor enmeshed himself into the characters.

He played it all – the intensely likeable, funny, often naive, handsome, hero role. Well, due to those starring roles, Brendan Fraser has enjoyed a sweet place in most people’s heart. As a result people still mainly remember the star in those terms.

Also, as we earlier reported in previous articles, he has a tragic backstory. After a hot streak of starring in box office hits in his prime during the early 90’s, the burgeoning star quietly faded off the big cinema, making fans wonder, especially since he hasn’t been in any controversy whatsoever.

He disappeared slowly and appeared in less movies, becoming more famous for his body builds than any acting roles. Of course, all that has changed now after the 2003 incident (allegedly Phillip Berk, the head of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association).

In the same period, Brendan Fraser’s wife divorced him and the judge imposed $900,000 per year in alimony payments. He was unable to pay this and his mother died. He has suffered  injuries from the many stunts he had performed over the years, leading to a knee replacement, major spine surgery and vocal chord surgery (he legally died for 18 seconds on the set of ‘The Mummy’ when a hanging stunt went wrong and he was hanged for real).

These devastating events affected the star Fraser deeply, making him to add weight. His choice to speak out against his powerful abuser caused his career to stall. With this outrageous run of bad luck, it’s not hard to see why Frasers story continues to inspire sympathy from around the world.

Fraser comes across as a nice guy whom a large majority of people think fondly of who has had an amazingly bad run of luck, and obviously many people are happy to see him come out the other side of that.

The fact that he’s still a pretty great actor with a charismatic screen presence also sells him faster. His career is witnessing an upside tick with more movie roles coming along and he actually seems pretty happy.
