“Otoro gba gbue gi”- Jeff Bezoz and Prof Uju Anya trade words as she berates Queen Elizabeth II death

Following the death of the British monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, encomiums and condolences have continued to pour in from around the world. The Queen died after a brief breakdown in health.

The Queen died aged 96, Buckingham Palace has announced –
“The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and the Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow,” Buckingham Palace said earlier in a briefing.

Taking to her Twitter account, Prof Uju Anya fired several damning shots at the British empire and the influential role played by the late Queen of Elizabeth II. According to the tweet, she wrote –

“I heard the chief monarch of a thieving genocidal empire is finally dying. May her pain be excruciating”. The tweet has now been deleted at the time of this report.

Apparently, this tweet came immediately it was announced that the Queen’s health was not good. Replying the tweet, billionaire Jeff Bezoz replied this –

“This is someone supposedly working to make the world better? I don’t think so. Wow.”

Not taking it lying down, Prof Uju doubled down on her earlier rhetorics with this reply –

“Otoro gba gbue gi.

“May everyone you and your merciless greed have harmed in this world remember you as fondly as I remember my colonizers.”

However, as United Kingdom mourns the passing of the Queen, outrage has started to pour in, with so many outspoken people from British former colonies deriding and berating the death. While some outrightly lambasted the Queen and what she stood for in her lifetime, others called out the Queen for actively participating in destruction of Africa and other vassal colonies during the reign of the British empire.

As it turned out, Uju Anya was not alone in her views as her tweet has garnered thousands of likes and retweets in the short time before it was deleted by Twitter. Expressing similar opinion, other Twitter users have also lambasted the British empire and categorically called out the Queen. Check out some of the popular tweets here.

Following the outrage that has been unleashed over her tweet, the Professor of Applied Linguistics has said anyone expecting her to recant her position is wasting their time. She said –

“If anyone expects me to express anything but disdain for the monarch who supervised a government that sponsored the genocide that massacred and displaced half my family and the consequences of which those alive today are still trying to overcome, you can keep wishing upon a star.”

There are concerns now she may loose her job and Twitter account due to her outspoken stance on British colonial history.
